How does DynaTax AI handle per diem for truck drivers?

You log the days you’re away from your tax home. DynaTax AI applies the per diem rate for that tax year, counts first and last days at 75%, and uses the deductible share for your situation (80% for self-employed drivers under DOT hours-of-service rules). You choose per diem or actual expenses for the year.

Do I need meal receipts for per diem?

With the per diem method you back up the days, not each meal, so keep a record of when and where you were on the road. Lodging is different: keep those receipts. DynaTax AI tracks lodging separately.

Can I use it for IFTA?

It gives you miles by state, split by quarter, and exports them as CSV for your filing. Fuel purchases by state aren’t in that report yet, and DynaTax AI doesn’t file your IFTA return.

Does it replace my ELD?

No. Keep your ELD for hours of service. DynaTax AI handles the bookkeeping and the tax records your miles and days create.

Can my accountant work in my books?
